Ourika: riverside time and a demanding optional walk
An Ourika visit combines valley scenery with the possibility of lunch beside the river. Some booked options include lunch and others do not, so check the offer rather than assuming it is included.
The waterfall walk described by our team involves a climb of roughly 30 to 40 minutes. Sections can be demanding and slippery. It is not an effortless walk, and the waterfall you reach is relatively small.
You do not need to judge the whole day by whether you complete the waterfall route. Tell the team if your priority is a relaxed riverside visit and ask whether that can be arranged in your chosen shared or private format.
Imlil: a private mountain walk
The base Imlil experience includes private transportation and a mountain guide for a hike of approximately two to three hours. Your party travels privately, and the walking route can be discussed in relation to your fitness and interests.
Different walking routes are available around the area. A private arrangement gives you room to discuss the effort and pace, but it does not make every mountain path suitable for every participant. Explain your needs before the route is selected.
Lunch and cooking are optional additions
Lunch and the cooking class are paid add-ons to the Imlil hiking experience. They are not included in the base offer.
If you select the cooking option, the team will explain how the class and hike fit together. Confirm the full day’s timing before adding further plans in Marrakech.
This distinction is important when comparing offers: a transport-and-hike price should not be compared directly with a package that also includes food and cooking.
Which should you choose?
Before booking either trip, confirm pickup access, the walking route, meal inclusions and the expected return time. The better day trip is the one that fits your party’s interests and ability, not simply the one that lists the most activities.
